Doug Says Goodbye

Doug Harrison

I've known Doug Harrison for 16 years. He's been a unique and valued member of two of my bands, Zachary Smith and The Offbeats. He is a guitar and bass virtuoso, a fine vocalist and a true friend in every sense of the word. Doug has moved from San Diego to Spokane to begin a new phase in his life focusing on his business (www.virtualtoad.com), which is based there. It would be impossible to fill Doug's place in the band, musically or emotionally. George and I have discussed this, and we both feel the Offbeats can only be Doug, George and John. So, we have come to the end of another great musical experience, for us and for those of you who have been our friends and supported us through the years.

The Offbeats have been a outstanding band, and we've done some really fun things. Beatlefests and Beatlefairs; The Cavern in Liverpool, England; Billy J. Kramer & The Offbeats; road trips to Phoenix for The Grapes of Wrath reunions and many creative and satisfying hours in the recording studio just to name a few. We have wonderful memories, and they will be cherished. Doug will be missed.

Mr. Harrison, we salute you and we love you. God speed.
